Had a later start of day than the last few days. Don't dislike Mondays per say, just has never been a good day for me for as many years as I can remember. My aunt is the same way......

Keeping constant every day no matter to keep active. This is the first Winter since 2012 that I've been out of bed more days than not, just hiding under the blankets. That in itself is such a good feeling. Getting out of bed in wanting to live rather than just wanting to die is a powerful turning point. I never had thoughts of suicide, to clarify. It was I just didn't care if I lived or died. Grief is a life all it's own sometimes. Having never lived it before, not having the clue as to how to deal with it amongst heartache so deep was paralyzing and numbing at times. Not fair to my husband and kids in the least, but they have always been supportive and understanding amongst their own feelings and difficulties with great and rapid change. Very blessed! We are all much better these days and working towards our own goals for a better life. The eating healthier, exercising and consistency are important factors for me.

2 backyard eggs, 2 sl. Ezekiel raisin cinnamon toast, 1 sl. turkey bacon, 8 oz. o.j..... decaf coffee

60 minutes dance/stretch/movin' n groovin', 14 min Gazelle (1 mile), 25 BBJ pull-ups (hands behind the head)

Oh boy I can relate to your feelings. I had two years where I could have just stared at the ceiling all day and not cared what happened to me or anything else. It is like having a new life to get out of bed and appreciate what I have and want to live a happy life again. I hope this is just the beginning of great things for you.

What a great Super Bowl........... Proud of the Seahawks no matter. Always a 12th (wo)man!

Kept the eating on the healthier side of things despite the rest having the typical football goodies. After the stomach rejected the spaghetti yesterday, figured to be cautious than sick was best. Not worth it!

Multi-Grain Cheerios, banana, chopped black walnuts, 1 c. milk

60 minutes dance/stretch/movin' n groovin', 25 BBJ set-ups

S.F. peach/raspberry iceed tea (hubs and kids brought it home for me after a.m. church service- tasted good!)

Chicken salad nachos (Romaine,chicken breast, adzuki beans, chickpeas, grape tomatoes in center of plate surrounded by single layer tortilla chips and skiff of cheese), faux peach cobbler, small brownie

Saturday, saturday, saturday...... The day another pound is gone. Also, the day before the Super Bowl.

Went to the thrift store earlier and there was a never been used Body by Jake w/ the video and all the paperwork. No price tag. Found the manager and asked her how much it was. $12.99 sound o.k.? YEP! Pretty well equipped now with the Gazelle, the brand new stepper I got earlier this week at the same thrift store and now the BBJ. Had to move furniture around in the living room to accomodate, but so be it. Weather breaks, it will be moved outside. Completely covered porch and patio makes it feasable. I'm very independant, making it necessary to have an arsonal of things to enjoy for exercise. A gym membership would most likely be wasted money. I love to go to yard sales, thrift stores and consignments to allow affordability.

1 c. steel cut oats, raisins, banana, drizzle of honey, 1/4 c. milk.... decaf coffee

Left-over spaghetti

60 minutes dance/stretch/movin' n groovin'... 20 BBJ sit-ups

Mixed fruit (watermelon, canteloupe, kiwi, mango, grapes)

Got out today to the nail salon and did a little grocery shopping......

Family wanted Teryaki food, so ordered some chicken n rice w/veggies and an egg roll. Made it through 3-4 bites of the rice and it didn't even taste like I wanted it to. Set it aside, ate the egg roll and dished up a small bowl of left-over spaghetti instead. Didn't want to waste the calories on something couldn't enjoy.

Saturday is the day to set up the new living room theatre system. The other one was 14 years old and worn out between moving and puppy chewing over the years. Also bought a new 3CD changer to plug into it, so I can really crank up the exercise music.... :) Whole family will be home. Surely lots I've gotten behind on this last 2 weeks of sickness can be caught up on.

1 c. steel cut oats, raisins, banana, hemp hearts, drizzle of honey, 1/4 c. milk...Decaf coffee

5.5 oz. l.s. V-8, Mariani bar (nuts and honey only)

Chicken n rice w/mixed veggies = 4 bites, egg roll, small bowl spaghetti

30 minutes exercise

H2o = 54 oz....... unfiltered a.c. vinegar drink = 8 oz.

Ate for the first time today at 5:15 p.m. Had a good night's rest, but then a coughing spell wore me out. Laid back down and slept for several more hours. The coughing was good, as it was working all the ick out. I laughed at myself for a minute when thinking "now, your a loose woman". Been a long stretch, but think on the other end of this stuff finally...... Then wondering if maybe my extra tiredness may of been due to an accidental double take of b.p. medicine. Not missed a day in a year of taking it, I had taken the bottle out of the cupboard to fill the daily pill box and had also got out a Mucinex and 3 ibuprofen. Couldn't remember if I'd taken a b.p. pill..Counted out according to the last empty rx botttle written on (didn't write on the new one as for the date I started taking the refill) and backtracked, concluding I hadn't and took one.  I'm alive and feeling better is the good news at least. Room for error has been removed with the next 3 weeks meds in the pill caddy.

Burrito (Ezekiel tortilla, 2 backyard eggs, tomato, 1/2 avocado, thin slice swiss), orange, decaf coffee

Cran-Pom juice w/ seltzer

1 hour dancing/stretching/movin' m groovin'


1/2 baked sweet potato,broccoli, spaghetti sauce w/xtra lean ground beef, 1/2 c. pasta

Plain popcorn w/ 1/2 c. multi-grain Cheerios

Yes, we have 9 hens.. Wintertime is slower for fresh eggs, but daylight is staying longer and they'll be back to laying daily.

I've got 3 hens - French Marans. Two of mine have come out of it and are laying almost every day. This breed is not as productive as some of the commercial breeds, but they lay beautiful copper/chocolate brown eggs.

Prepared foods today for the next week to week & a half at least. As for the families lunch extras besides their sandwiches and snacks for us all. Cut up watermelon, canteloupe, pineapple and pulled grapes w/vines into small clumps (put a couple folded paper towls in the bottom of the tupperware container to keep the moisture from making them slimy). Helps me tremendously when I can take the time before there's a time pinch and turn to old habits of "we'll get something on the go"... Grab at home and go in case running late is how it works now.

Although there are chips, cookies, candies convenience packed, etc. sitting out (Paul fixes the sandwiches and each grabs their own accessories for lunch) :P ).. They aren't a temptation for me any more at this point. Our entire family is on the healthier path trek, just I'm more restricted by choice... They can choose to be or not. No weighty issues w/ son or daughter and hubby could downsize by about 25-30 pounds. He's pretty good about leaving the chips, etc. out from time to time. It's my job to offer the good as a choice no matter. They are asked to at least take one veggie and one fruit though.


Been wanting a Dr. scale for the bathroom for a long time. The ones we have right now get scooted all around and hard to calibrate. Besides the eyesight not able to see the numbers very well...Today decided to look on craigslist. Found 2 pair and going to go look at them on Friday morning. Paul will go with me. Have the perfect spot for them!

Still feeling pretty crapolaish. Set a goal for this day to have the food prep done, dishes all done, load of laundry done and some movin' n groovin'.... All is done, but the m&g... Going to take a little power nap and then get to it.

55 minutes dancing/stretching/movin' n groovin' (Paul and Meg came in from prayer meeting before I was officially finished with an hour)

H2o= 48 oz..... unfiltered a.c. vingear drink = 8 oz. (not enough water for being sick.. ugh)

The choice to fight the cold sickness ended this morning when I woke with the headache and sinus pressure causing tears to fall. Doc got me in within 2 hours of calling in. On antibiotics for 5 days now. Suppose to rest and continue as I have been the last 8 days w/ pain relievers, cough medicine, fluids, etc. Both a bronchial and sinus infection going on.

Bought some 100% cranberry/pomegranate juice to mix w/seltzer until better. Tired of the other stuff and to the point of not worrying about the extra calories of the juice.

While waiting for the rx, stopped by the thrift store (I'm a junquie)... Low and behold there was a new in box stepper machine for $19.99. It's an older one and not huge, but perfect for the room I have to add to the Gazelle workouts.

More of an uplift in spirit after the "score"... Got my jammies on and dialed in "The Doctors". Don't believe in cooincidence, so believing it was meant to be for me to see was the gal that has lost 1/2 of her body weight by finding an exercise she loved added to her eating habit changes.... It was "DANCING"!!!! Now, a couple days ago remember I'd decided to give it a try like always wanted to and loved every minute of the 60 boogied. She said she'd waited til nobody was home, cranked up the music and danced her heart out... That was ME too. What hope that few minutes of listening and seeing her gave. Yay.....

I want to exercise some this afternoon/evening, but doc said to rest. Going to cut the 60 minutes in half if my head (full of pressure) can take it. If I don't at least try, I'll be a crabby mess in disappointment if not able to keep my every day streak going since the 13th for exercise of some sort.

Banana, l.s. V-8, s.f.,n.f.,decaf latte (on the go breakfast)

45 minutes dancing/stretching/exercise

Going to try and do a hodge podge workout w/dancing instead of Gazelle this evening after the rest of the family head off to evening church service.... Still combating the stupid cold. Been couped up since last Sunday. Was looking forward to a treat of a latte that Paul & the kids brought home after they'd been to a.m. service.... Meg told Paul s.f., Ben said regular. Forgetting my changes and defaulting to the usual... (he's been gone most of the "change over" to healthier choices with "ordering").. He got regular! Had it been a 16 oz. instead of 24, may of drank it, but thanked him and didn't even take a sip. Would of wanted the whole thing. Later he had to go to the store and I asked for a s.f. iced tea... First of s.f. anything per say in almost a month. Tis not as good as I thought it would be, but nursing on it.

Grilled cheese sandwich (2 sl. Ezekiel raisin cinnamon bread, l.f. mozarella), Healthy Request homestyle chicken noodle soup, 8 oz. l.s. V-8 

s.f. rasp./peach iced tea

Mercy Me CD~ 1 hour dance/exercise/movin' n groovin'/stretchin'/steppin' like nobody was watchin'... And they weren't! May be a competition between walking and this to be a favorite now.... Never have just let go. Always wanted to. I'm 46 years old and why let self hold self back.... It was enlightning into the joy that can come from saying "yes" without fear... Sweat like a mad woman. Maybe got some of the sickly germs worked out.. That or I'll be worse tomorrow.. LOL. Waiting game and right now. Little wheezing (have been anyway)... I'm both invigorated and pooped. It was like the one zumba class I took, just my own moves without trying to follow someone else.

This is the first time in a couple years that I've not been out of the house for 7 days straight. Not sure how I feel about it really. Plus side? Saves money on gas and by not going to the thrift store especially, it saves even more.... Next time I go somewhere, probably feel like a freed bird. I'll make sure to conain my enthusiasm.

1 heaping c. left-over bean soup, apple
