My Diary page new editor
- ddwebmaster on 11-Nov-08 05:22 PM
I implemented a change on the "My Diary" page. It displays differently and includes a new editor interface. When entering new diary pages or editing them you can now use the "html" editor. It allows uploading / resizing / positioning of multiple pictures along with other things. It also has a little blue icon in the upper left hand corner that allows you to maximize the editor's size, then when finished with working on it, you just click the little blue icon again to bring it back to regular size. I have to take off for a few hours, so hopefully everything is working correctly. If there's anything that doesn't look like it's behaving correctly, please leave a reply here and include as many specifics as possible.

I'm finding that when I go to hit enter to go to a new line but not a new paragraph, it won't let me. It won't even recognize when I try to use HTML such as a break < br >. Any thoughts?

Pressing the "enter" key alone does cause a paragraph break. To use a line break hold the "shift" key while pressing the "enter" key. The new editor does limit the html commands that you can enter directly in an attempt to cleanup the html code. It's quite common for people not to use the closing tags in their entries, which then leaves those tags open for whatever portions of the page follow.

The link to start a new diary entry is located inside the box at the top of your "my diary" page. There are 2 links directly below the search box that says "Last 7 days". It probably needs to be better positioned, but I've been in kind of a hurry just trying to get the functionality working.
